Volunteer Role Descriptions

Are you interested in volunteering at St. Peter?  There are many ways in which you can volunteer and serve, please see below for brief descriptions on volunteer opportunities along with links to sign up as a volunteer.  Thank you for serving at St. Peter!

Soundboard volunteers are needed for 10:30am Sunday worship service and the 6:30p.m. Wednesday Worship service. The 10:30a.m. worship service role is the most basic of our soundboard operation, with minimal adjustments required. There is no live-stream or video use involved, instead only slight adjustments to volume level of microphones would be required. You are even able to sit with your family near the soundboard and do not have to sit at the soundboard. This role is intended for adults or older teens who must have training (will only take about 15 minutes) prior to volunteering. The 6:30p.m. Wednesday night worship service role will require minimal sound adjustment, use of PowerPoint to display slides on the projector, and occasional CD usage.  There is no live-streaming involved in this role but it does require the ability to multi-task. This role is intended for adults or older teens who must have training (will only take about 30 minutes) prior to volunteering.

Coffee & Fellowship Hosts Thank you for your interest in serving as a Fellowship & Coffee Host. This role serves coffee and treats to our members between the 8:00am and 10:30am worship service. (During summer services, the host provides coffee & treats following the 9:00am service.) Instructions will be available by the coffee maker in the kitchen.  Rob Ridnour and Jay Brewer are also available to assist you with set-up if you need. Hosts purchase & serve snacks on their Sunday. Receipts can be turned into the church office for reimbursement or supplies may be donated. (Coffee supplies are provided and can be found in the kitchen.) *Set-up can take place prior to the 8:00a.m. service or 30 minutes before the 8:00 service ends. Clean up takes about 30 minutes once serving is complete.

Creation Station is held during the 8:00am & 10:30am worship services. Creation station volunteers are needed during Sunday morning worship services at St. Peter.  Creation station occurs during the message portion of the worship service and allows young children the opportunity to create a craft based on the day’s gospel reading.  Creation station allows young children to connect with the gospel in an age appropriate activity while allowing their parents the opportunity to listen fully to the day’s message.  The creation station craft is prepared for you and all supplies are set up and ready to go each Sunday.  (All volunteers who work with youth/young children at St. Peter are required to complete a background check prior to serving as a volunteer, contact the church office for a copy of the form.)
