On Sunday, February 25, the church congregation will be tying fleece blankets for Mercy Hospitals. We invite all members of the congregation to take part in this project. Here is some information for you about the project and how you can help.
Check out why members of all ages love participating:

What is the Fleece Blanket Project?
Fleece blankets are donated to Mercy Hospitals in Des Moines. These blankets are given to patients from newborns to people at the end of their lives. The blankets serve as a comfort item and are enjoyed by patients of all ages.

How Can I Help?
1. Donate fabric – 2 pieces of fleece (each 1 ½ yards in size) make one blanket. Fabric can be brought to church.
2. Donate a completed blanket! Create a blanket with your family, friends, Bible Study or Book Club.
3. Help prepare the Fellowship Hall for the blanket tying event. (This will be done on Saturday, Feb. 24.)
4. Help on Sunday, February 25 during the tying event. Never made a blanket before? That’s ok – if you can tie your shoe you can tie a blanket. We also have other things that can be done that don’t involve actually making a blanket.

How many blankets will we make? This is our 5th year participating in the Fleece Blanket Project. We hope to break last year’s number of 113 blankets.

Who do I contact with questions? Contact the education committee with questions. Thank you for helping us as we are Gathered to Grow – Sent to Serve.
