We will hold our Youth Group Kick-Off on September 18 (Date Corrected from Sept. 11), 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Cooney residence (404 NW Sunset Ln., Grimes). We will BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs and are asking the youth to bring a side dish to share. We will spend time getting to know each other and playing games. Everyone entering 6th grade to seniors are welcome to come and you are encouraged to bring friends if they are interested in learning more about Youth Group. Please come out and help us kick off our Youth Group year.

Youth Group this coming year is going to have a significant change relating to middle school and high school. This year we will be splitting our middle school and high school youth groups for topic nights and bring them together for our fellowship events.

  • Middle school Youth Group will be open to all 6-8th grade youth and will be held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the youth room. Each night, we will have a devotion topic as well as play games and hang out while creating a safe and comfortable faith-based discussion.
  • High school Youth Group will be open to all 9-12th grade youth and it will be held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s of the month from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the youth room. Each night, we will have an engaging topic to discuss as we grow in our faith together.

The intentional splitting of the group is meant to foster an environment for comfortable discussion geared towards the different ages. Our fellowship and service nights will be joint events allowing the two groups to share in fun and service.

If you have questions, or are interested in helping with either middle school or high school Youth Group, please reach out to me. I can be reached at (515)238-3053 or by email.

Best regards,
Matt Schmidt
